STEPHANIE (THOMPSON) LESSUN

Stephanie M. (Thompson) Lessun, 35, was taken from us unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Stephanie was born in Syracuse, NY, on July 18, 1988. Stephanie was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, friend, coworker and overall, one-of-a-kind. Stephanie was quick-witted and had an incredible sense of humor and insatiable hunger for knowledge. Brandon was the love of her life, her soulmate, her "big daddy". They married on August 19, 2016. They got matching seahorse tattoos on their anniversary to symbolize their endless love. Education was everything to the family with vacations planned around educational experiences. They have been to many zoos, aquariums and museums all over the east coast. Stephanie was always found reading to the children, doing arts and crafts, or even holding slugs and worms...using every opportunity to teach Milo and Lorelei. She had boundless patience and was an incredible teacher. Stephanie’s love was selfless. She received two Bachelors degrees in both Psychology and Spanish from Le Moyne College, graduating summa cum laude with a 3.98 GPA, she was so upset that she didn't get a 4.0. Stephanie enrolled in the Master of Social Work at Syracuse University so that she could help others. She found her passion working as a LMSW at SUNY Upstate working in various departments including the Emergency Department, Neurology, and The ALS Clinic. Stephanie regularly organized fundraisers to help important causes such as The ALS Walk, The Breast Cancer Walk and the MS Walk. These activities were always a family affair. Stephanie’s mission was to raise "little humanitarians and to find beauty in everything." Stephanie lived by the quote from Frank Barron... "Never take a person's dignity. It is worth everything to them, and nothing to you" Stephanie is survived by her husband, Brandon and their two children; son, Milo Triton, age four and daughter, Lorelei Mae, age three, from Warners, NY; her mother, Shirley and father, Steven Thompson, of Manlius, NY; her sister, Martha Solomon, from Cato, NY; brother-in-law, David Solomon and niece, Taylor Solomon, from Cato, NY; in-laws, David and Lisa Lessun, from Jordan, NY; sister-in-law, Caitlin Lessun (Jonathan Becker), from Chittenango, NY; fur babies, Sledge, Sumatra and Kitty. The Celebration of Life for Stephanie Lessun is on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 12pm-3pm at Le Moyne College in the Curtain Special Events Room located in the Campus Center. Parking is available in the Lot C on 1419 Salt Springs Rd Syracuse, NY 13214.
