LOUIS D. ZINGARO, JR.

Louis Dominick Zingaro Jr., age 90, of Lakeland, passed peacefully on August 26th, 2020 at Crouse Hospital surrounded by his loving wife and children. Louie was born on July 12th, 1930 in Solvay to the late Theresa (Spicciati) Zingaro and Luigi Zingaro. He was the youngest of nine children. Louie was a 1948 graduate of Solvay High School and a 1949 graduate of Central City Business Institute (CCBI). He was a United States Marine Corps veteran during the Korean War, stationed at Camp Pendleton, California. Louie was a Property Records Accountant for Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation for 39 years before retiring in December 1991. During his tenure, he earned several Exceptional Service Awards from the company. He was a member of the Solvay-Geddes Veterans Association, a proud union member of IBEW Local 1484 and a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church in Lakeland. Louie was pre-deceased by his sisters, Millie Plants, Anna Fantacone, Lucy Malvasi, Sue Ranieri, his brothers, Michael Zingaro, Nicholas Zingaro and John Zingaro. He was also pre-deceased by his first wife, Anna Kubik and son-in-law, Peter Guzik. Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Monica (formerly DeJohn) Zingaro, two daughters, Donna (Jim) Toscano, Barbara Guzik, two stepdaughters, Lisa Bower and Gina DeJohn (Bill) Clifford, and one stepson, David (Terry) DeJohn; twelve grandchildren, Lisa Toscano-Wroblewski, James Toscano Jr., Hillary Guzik (Jung), Jody (Guzik) Hauck, Matthew Cummings, Sarah Bower, Jordan Clifford, Austin Clifford, Jeremy DeJohn, Ashley DeJohn, Ethan DeJohn, Margaret DeJohn and eight great grandchildren, Calla Coleman, Tobias J. Toscano, Teddy Cummings, Kaebrey DeJohn, Kamryn DeJohn, Mia Alfonseca, Olivia Alfonseca, Kalia Alfonseca, as well as his sister, Rose Fedrizzi and sister-in-law, Anne Zingaro, step-grandchildren, Paige and Abby Barnish along with a large group of loving nieces, nephews and extended family. Family and friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Monday, August 31st at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Tuesday September 1st at St. Marianne Cope Parish-St. Cecilia Church, followed by interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Warners.
