JOYCE (MOTT) TAROLLI

Joyce Adrienne (Mott) Tarolli, 90, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Kawa) Mott. She was a communicant of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and a member of its Rosary Society. Joyce graduated from Blodgett Vocational High School and worked as a secretary for General Electric/Martin Marietta. She retired from Lockheed Martin as an administrative assistant in the Ocean, Radar and Sensor Systems Department. For many years she was a member of the company women’s bowling and golf leagues. She was also a member and past president of the WaNoa Tuesday Morning Women’s Golf League. In addition to her athletic endeavors, Joyce was a member of the Sweet Adelines International, singing with the Spirit of Syracuse Women’s Chorus. She was a past member of many organizations including the Sacred Heart Seniors, the Geddes Seniors, the Polish Home, St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary, and the Pine Grove Athletic Club. Joyce also served as an election inspector for the town of Geddes. She also did volunteer work at St. Joseph’s Hospital and ECHO Meals on Wheels. Joyce enjoyed reading, music, sports, and travel. Joyce is predeceased by her daughter, Michelle Tarolli Nicaise; brother, John “Sonny” Mott and former husband, Richard P. Tarolli. She is survived by her children; Cynthia Tarolli of Onondaga Hill, Paul Tarolli of Westvale, and Mark Tarolli of Westvale; sister, Lorraine (Ray) Southworth of Camillus, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her family would like to express their gratitude to her Hospice nurses, Erin and Naomi, for their care and compassion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 927 Park Ave., Syracuse 13204. Joyce will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce’s memory to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, American Red Cross, Food Bank of CNY, or the Humane Society.
