JAMES F. LOUISE

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father James Francis Louise, age 90, who died peacefully Tuesday, June 13 surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born August 23, 1932 to the late Anthony and Adeline (Petrilli) Louise. He was also predeceased by his sisters Rose Moosebrugger and Marie Jean Grant. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife Catherine (nee Rizzo), children Paula (Ray), Tim (Deb Bowers) and Kristin. Also surviving are his brother-in -law Martin (Nina) Rizzo, sister-in-law Barbara (James) Weber, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren and friends. After graduating Solvay High, Jim joined the US Navy where he was detached to the USS New Jersey in Newport, RI. When Jim caught tonsillitis, he was relieved of active duty and that was one of the happiest days of his mother’s life. Jim went on to a fulfilling career with New York Telephone Company and was a dedicated employee. After retirement he secured a part-time position at the referral of neighbor George Webster, with Madison Mutual Insurance inspecting homes for insurance policies and that was right up his alley, being the techy that he was. There wasn’t anything Jim couldn’t fix. He helped family and friends with their projects and passed his handyman skills on to not only his son, but his daughters, for which they will be forever grateful. His garage was his man cave, he loved working on cars, cutting wood for craft projects, snow blowing in the winter and mowing in the summer. The Louise Family spent numerous summers camping and fishing at Limekiln Lake and Cedar Point State Parks with many families whom still stay in touch. In their golden years, Jim and Cathy joined the Catholic Golden Agers run by Jim’s cousin Gloria Mastriano, and their love of traveling continued. Family and friends may call 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM, Tuesday June 20th at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 West Genesee Street, Camillus NY 13031. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. Private burial will be at Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to the VA Hospital, St. Camillus and ALL THE DEDICATED home aides that gave Jim excellent care that ensured him staying in his home until recently.
