RUDOLPH J. TAROLLI

September 21, 1924 - November 9, 2019

Rudolph “Rudy” Tarolli, 95, of Solvay, passed away peacefully on November 9. Rudy was born in Syracuse, NY on September 21, 1924 to the late Primo and Irene “Mary” (Martinelli) Tarolli. He graduated from Solvay High School and later served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII as a Radio Operator/Gunner in the 515th Bomber Squadron, 376th Bomber Group. He flew 50 missions in southern and eastern Europe and was honorably discharged, receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross. Rudy was a lifelong active member and past President of the Solvay Tyrol Club. He enjoyed a successful career, working with Western Electric for 19 years, subsequently transferring to NY Telephone where he retired as an Engineer in 1985. He and his late wife Barbara, married for 63 years, lived their lives and raised their family in Solvay. Rudy was an avid gardener and golfer, working hard at both crafts. He and Barbara enjoyed many years as members of Tuscarora Golf Club, playing often and making wonderful friends along the way. Central to their lives was always their family, with weekends by the pool or around the dinner table, often with the latest golf tournament tuned in on the TV. Rudy is predeceased by his wife Barbara. He is survived by their daughters Lynnette (Thomas) Pavente, Karen (Archie) Hotchkiss, and Lori Gravelle; grandchildren Stacie (Jonathan) Fitzgerald, Jill (Dan) Palinkas, Amanda (Patrick) Janes, Cailee (Pete) Garm; 9 great grandchildren Aidan, Logan, Arianna, Ava, Catherine, Mason, Emery, Landon, and Emilia; brothers Rigo and Don, and sisters Janice Korzyp and Elaine Moore. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Thursday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Ave., Solvay. Funeral services will be held 9:30 am Friday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME with entombment to follow in St. Mary’s Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, DeWitt. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to Honor Flight Syracuse, Inc. PO Box 591, Syracuse, NY 13209-0591 (https://honorflightsyracuse.org/donations/).
