ROSE (LOUISE) MAZZEO

Rose (Louise) Mazzeo, 101, of Solvay, passed away peacefully Monday May 4th at home surrounded by her family. Rose was born in Syracuse to the late Thomas and Carmella (Lucheso) Louise in 1919. She was manager and co-proprietor of Louise’s Market in Solvay for over 45 years and also worked a few years at Flah’s Department store in Fairmount Fair. She was a longtime communicant of St. Marianne Cope Parish-St. Cecilia Church and member of its Altar and Rosary Society. Rose was also a past member of Solvay Seniors and the Moose Club. She had a special love for her grandsons and great-grandson who brought her so much happiness. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas in 1986 and her brother, John Louise in 1984. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Joan Mazzeo, of Solvay, son, Thomas (Mary Ellen) Mazzeo, of Camillus, 2 grandsons, Michael (Cori) Mazzeo, of Alexandria, VA and Nicholas Mazzeo, of Chicago, IL, great-grandson, Leo Mazzeo and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services and burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Warners are private. A Memorial Mass for family and friends will be celebrated at a later date.
