Michelina Vona, 82, of Camillus, passed away Thursday. She was born in Torrice, Italy to the late Angelo and Luisa (Vona) Cervona in 1936 and immigrated to America in 1955. She was a machine operator at Pass and Seymour and worked quality control at Landis Plastics in Elbridge. She was the peacemaker of the family, loving every moment spent with them. Michelina was an avid gardener and loved to cook for her family. She was predeceased by her parents and a son, Mario Vona. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Sebastiano “Sam”, 2 sons; John (Johnna) and Robert (Nichole), 3 grandchildren; Ashley (Nick) Hurd, Nathan and Natalie Vona, 2, sisters; Josephine (Lino) Palmeri and Bettina Testani, 2 brothers; Fernando Cervona and Armando (Luisa) Cervona, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 9:00 am Wednesday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue.
