MICHAEL F. RIKER

Michael Riker was a very generous soul. Always putting everyone’s needs above his own with no complaints. He was able to remarkably complete any task thrown at him at any given moment. Mike was the first one his family and friends would call on when they were in need of help because they knew he would help with 100% heart. Michael was a huge music fan. No matter what he was doing music was ALWAYS playing even while he was watching his Raiders or Yankees, TV would be muted and stereo cranked. He had a beautiful collection of guitars and more recently started collecting an impressive array of vinyl albums that were beautifully displayed in shelves that he custom built. Michael started roofing when he was in his teens and continued to work in construction his entire life. He could not sit still and had to be creative so that was the only field for him. Mike loved animals…ALL animals. He loved his dogs Gus and Jaxsun and also took care of all the neighborhood birds, squirrels, deer and even the woodchuck that lived under the shed that he named Bubba. He loved gardening all plants, big and small and cultivated proudly. Every-time a flower would bloom he would beam with pride. Mike recently started working with a friend on his cannabis farm which brought him so much joy in his final months. Michael resided in Syracuse with the love of his life Tammy. They dated for 4 years after high school then reconnected 9 years ago. He often told Tammy...“I’m home now”. He also stepped into the role of Step-Dad to Tammy’s daughter Gianna who he loved with all of his heart and willing to sacrifice anything to make sure that both Gianna and Tammy were safe, comfortable and happy. Michael loved his nephews Zachary and Joshua and nieces Gillian and Devon and great niece Isabella like they were his own children often talking about fond memories of them when they were little with tears in his eyes. Michael loved home cooked meals often talking about his Italian mom’s cooking growing up especially her homemade sauce. This made Tammy happy because she loved to cook especially on the weekends. He would be so excited for every meal and so grateful for every bite. Even if the meal was subpar he would never complain just continually say thank you and how wonderful it was even if it was something out of a can. Mike was a kind generous soul that will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Michael was pre-deceased by his Mother, Carol (Iannola) Riker his father, Ronald Riker and his sister, Kelly (Riker) Mullen. Michael is survived by loving longtime partner Tammy Panzironi, cherished stepchild, Gianna Fresina, beloved sister, Lisa and brother-in-law, Gary Steves and a host of adored nieces and nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his loving Boxer Jaxsun.
