ESTHER ELVIRA STIGLIANO
July 3, 1928 - April 25, 2019
Esther Elvira Stigliano, 90, of Syracuse, NY, went to be with her heavenly Father on April 25, 2019. Known affectionately by many as “Aunt Esther”, she spent the most treasured period of her life travelling the country with her Kids Krusades, in which children and adults were delighted by her Bible stories and songs. For several years, she worked as a secretary for the Salvation Army in Sharon, PA, where she would annually assume the role of Miss Christmas, passing out gifts to the needy. She also worked for the Bair Foundation, which provides support to children and families in New Wilmington, PA, taught Christian education at The Rochester Bible Institute in Rochester, NY, served as a popular speaker for the Women’s Aglow Fellowship and managed the Christian Education Department of the Sacred Melody Bookstore in Syracuse, NY. Her favorite past times were spending time with family and crocheting. Her beautiful afghans, baby items and linens can be seen in homes of family and friends throughout the country and won her first prize at the New York State Fair. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Elizabeth (DePizzo) Stigliano, of Sharpsville, PA, and siblings, Mary (Thomas) Pantalone, of Niles, Ohio, Rita (Anthony) Sabella, of Middlesex, PA, Dominick (Eva) Stigliano, of Niles, Ohio and Theresa (Joseph) Rubbo, of Bayside, NY. She is survived by a sister, Sarah (Joseph) Chiodo, of Sharpsville, PA and dozens of nieces and nephews, including many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews, all of whom she held dear. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Hermitage, PA. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Hermitage. BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, Solvay, has care of local arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Child Evangelism Fellowship, www.cefonline.com. Please share online condolences and tributes at www.bagozzitwins.com.
