Edward N. Bucci, 88, of Camillus, passed away Thursday at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Auburn to the late Pasquale and Rose (Cefaratti) Bucci in 1930 and was a graduate of Vocational High School. Edward was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, serving as a medic from 1951-53. He retired after 30 years at Allied Chemical Co., due to the closing of the plant and he went on to work 6 years for the Town of Camillus Highway Department. He enjoyed hunting, vacationing in Florida, but most of all spending his life with his family. He was a longtime communicant of Holy Family Church in Fairmount. He was predeceased by his brothers; Pat, Jr. and Billy Bucci. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 63 years, the former Theresa Nicita, 3 daughters; Susan (Anthony) Lucio, Sandy (Joe) Nesci and Gina (Tim) Warren, 5 grandchildren; Samantha Nesci, Rachel, Anthony (Kaela Schermerhorn) and Alaina (Connor McDonnell) Lucio and Riley Warren, great-granddaughter; Gianna Bertrand, brother-in-law; Carl Nicita, sister-in-law; Sr. Carmel Nicita, his surrogate children; Rose and Fawn Nicita and Bill Pelin, surrogate grandchildren; Jamie and Nick Bogardus and Joe Pelin, his “fur buddy”, Teddy, and many special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 8:15 am Monday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 9:00 am at Holy Family Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal with military honors will follow in Onondaga County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse. Family and friends may call from 2:00 to 5:00 pm Sunday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue.
