VIRGINIA (CZYZ) TEDESCO

Virginia Lottie (Czyz) Tedesco, 93, of Fairmount, passed away peacefully at her home on June 4, 2024 after a short illness. She was born and raised in Syracuse, and lived in Camillus and Fairmount, and attended St. Joseph’s Church in Camillus. She is the daughter of Alojzy and Julia (Chmaj) Czyz. Virginia is predeceased by her husband Ralph J. Tedesco, granddaughter Rachel Cronk, and son-in-law Teddy Sundquist. Virginia was a kind and loving person who devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Virginia is survived by her children: Grace (Ed) Tily, Barbara (Marc) Ponto, Billy (Donna) Tedesco, Ralph (Colleen) Tedesco, Patty Sundquist, Michael (Pam) Tedesco and Mary Beth (Joe) Pedrotti. Virginia is also survived by her 16 grandchildren: Christine Gemma, Steven Chatburn, Jeremy Ponto, Shannon Ponto, Elizabeth Zambito, Sam Tedesco, Anna Tedesco, Michela Tedesco, Jacqueline Tedesco, Jonathan Sundquist, James Sundquist, Julia Tedesco, Billy Tedesco, Tony Pedrotti, Nick Pedrotti and Joey Pedrotti. Virginia also leaves behind 9 great-grandchildren: Austin, Tyler, Cece, Nate, Emma Bea, Mia, Julian, Mila and Avery. The family would like to acknowledge Virginia’s wonderful group of friends referred to as her “bingo buddies”, as they would all travel to the Turning Stone Casino for bingo, slots, laughter and fun. A special thanks to her dear friend Cindy who came to her home every week to do her hair. A loving acknowledgement to her life-long friends, Dolores Finn and Roseanne Corrigan, who predeceased her. Virginia spent the last 12 years of her life in the loving home of her daughter, Mary Beth and Joe, and their boys Tony, Nick and Joey. Virginia always took pride in being a homemaker, wife and mother, and fed her family's bodies and hearts with her great and creative cooking. She was proud of her Polish heritage, enjoying polka music and a good plate of golumpki and pierogies. In her younger days, Virginia enjoyed bowling, gardening and crafting. More recently she loved playing Rummikubs and was hard to beat. She had a witty, sharp sense of humor and loved telling stories about her youth, and about her children growing up. Most recently, her greatest joys were her young great-grandchildren. For her entire life, Virginia gave of herself endlessly and her unconditional love freely. She was loved so deeply, especially by her family. The greater the love, the greater the loss. She will be forever missed by all whose lives she touched.
