ROSINA (ASCIOTI) SPAGNOLETTI

Rosina “Rosie” (Ascioti) Spagnoletti, formerly of Solvay, New York, passed away on February 27th at Saratoga Hospital. She has resided with her daughter Anita in Ballston Lake, NY since 2016. Rosie was a devout Catholic spending hours with her prayer books and rosaries that she held close to her heart. She was also a member of St. Cecilia's Church for many years and a member of Holy Family. She was born on March 10, 1927 to the late Catherine (Maita) and Antonio Ascioti. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She and her husband Albert would travel yearly to his Army Reunions to many locations across the country. One of her favorite trips was to see Harry Connick and get backstage passes and front row seats and her trip to Satellite Beach. She was a loyal fan of General Hospital and loved her word search books daily. She was an excellent cook making delicious dinners for her family and loved to bake weekly. Her feast on Christmas Eve was one of her specialties. Rosie was a loyal part of her family business, Ascioti's Meat Market since she was a young girl. She would never miss a day of work except for a snowstorm and would spend those days working at the store as a cashier with her sweet smile and her younger days behind the meat counter. She would enjoy her lunches with her sisters Frances, Jessie and Fannie along with their Sunday dinners. She was predeceased by her husband Albert in 2009, sisters, Ida Vilasi, Jessie Quattrone, Frances Quattrone, Lena Guardino and Fannie Ascioti and brothers, Joseph, Thomas, Willie and Dominick “Doc”. She is survived by her loving children, Anita (Michael) Bronder, of Ballston Lake, Nancy (David) Iadanza, of Farmington and Nick (Kelly), of Baldwinsville, grandchildren, Michael (Ashley) DelVecchio, Dylan and Danny Iadanza, Tatum (Brad) Murray and Quincey (Jim) Queeney, her precious great-grandsons, Anthony and Kyler DelVecchio, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and family may call from 9:00 - 9:45 AM Saturday, March 11th at St. Marianne Cope Parish-St. Cecilia Church, 1001 Woods Rd, Solvay, with her Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse. BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, Solvay, has care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
