JOSEPHINE (CHEMOTTI) FRAGNITO

Josephine Fragnito went home to be with her husband, Danny, on January 6, 2024. Josephine was born in Tione, Trento, Italy on May 16th 1933, to her parents; Cleto Chemotti and Serafina (Artini) Chemotti. The family moved to Solvay when Josephine was 13 months old. Josephine went to the Solvay Schools and graduated in June 1951. She then attended Stratton Businesses School and upon graduating worked at Onondaga Pottery as a secretary. She married the love of her life, Daniel Fragnito, on July 20, 1957 and together they started a family and had a wonderful life together. After Onondaga Pottery closed, she stayed close to home and worked as a school crossing guard for a few years. She then, became a dental assistant for Dr. Tindall for the rest of her career. She was a member of the Solvay Tyrol Club Auxiliary, Solvay Garden Club, Solvay Tigers Ladies Auxiliary, a life-long communicant of St. Cecilias Church, past president of the Altar & Rosary Society, and active in various church activities. One of her most favorite activities was making cookies for the annual Assumption celebration. She was a loving, dedicated, and caring mother, grandmother and and most importantly very proud to be great grandmother to 7 great grandchildren. She loved her “babies” and could not get enough of them. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. Josephine was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Fragnito; brother, Abramo Chemotti and sister, Dalcisa Cominolli-Tarolli. Josephine is survived by her son, Mark (Kim) Fragnito; her daughters, Judy (Ray) Fougnier and Amy (Mark) Geremia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Nicholas (Lauren), Christopher (Gabrielle) Taylor, Saul (Mimi), Daniel, Erica (Jeremy) and Michael, and 7 great-grandchildren, Tate, Indie, Jace, Charli, River, Fiona and Finnick , along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday January 11, 2024 at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Ave., Solvay. Funeral services will be held 8:45 AM Friday January 12, 2024 at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 9:30 AM at St. Marianne Cope Parish- St. Cecilia Church 1001 Woods Rd. Solvay, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum in DeWitt, NY.
