Jason Santaferrara, 39, of Lakeland, NY, passed away on Saturday, December 11th at his home with his family beside him. A private ceremony for the family will be held on December 17th at Bagozzi Twins Funeral Home in Solvay, NY followed by the burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in DeWitt. Jason was born on February 7th, 1982 in Syracuse, NY to Carmen Santaferrara and Bette Besaw. He grew up in Lakeland, NY and graduated from Solvay High School in 2000. After high school he attended Onondaga Community College where he obtained an Associates Degree in Business Administration, but let’s get onto the good stuff. For anyone that had the pleasure of knowing Jason knew that he loved to joke around and have fun. His quiet yet sarcastic personality was always good for a laugh and brightened up anyone who was around him. This was Jason on the surface but, what made him truly special was his compassionate, loyal, and caring nature. No matter the circumstances he would do anything for anyone, no questions asked and that is why he touched so many people. When he wasn’t embracing others what he enjoyed the most were video games, wrestling, sneakers, and dogs. Talking to him about any of these things would lighten him up and it radiated the room. Jason was loved beyond belief and it’s important for us to let him know one last time that “We smelled what the Jason was cookin”. Jason is survived by his mother and stepfather, Bette and Mark Besaw, father and stepmother, Carmen and Teri Santaferrara, brother and sister-in-law, Carmen and Kathy Santaferrara, brother, Nick Santaferrara, his two nieces, Anna and Carli Santaferrara, his puppy, Chloe Mae and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
