DOROTHY (SARAZIN) LINDSAY

Dorothy (Sarazin) Lindsay, 82, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday at home. She was born and raised in Lakeland and Solvay to the late Edward and Helen (Dobies) Sarazin on April 13, 1935. She was a graduate of Solvay High School. She worked for about 20 years as an executive secretary to the President at Home Insurance Company before deciding to stay home to raise her children. She would reminisce about her time spent with the Pompeian Players and stories of her days on Skaneateles Lake where she met her husband Norman. She wanted to be a part of everything from the President of the St. Cecilia’s Parent-Teacher Guild to a member of Piercefield Women’s Club to attending athletic events, plays, spelling bees, concerts, etc. She was a part of all aspects of her children’s lives and family events. She even attended a high school basketball game just a day or so following her mastectomy. She loved her sports, but basketball and baseball were her favorites. You could always hear her yelling in the stands or at the tv, whether it was the Syracuse Nat’s, SU, Duke, the Mets or Bishop Ludden. She was a loving and supportive daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents and her loving husband of 44 years, Norman. She is survived by her daughters; Jennifer, of Auburn, WA and Caryn (Bryan) Baker, of Syracuse, her sister; Jeanne Zoanetti, of Lakeland and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dorothy’s family would like to give a heartfelt thank you from the bottom of their hearts to Michele (Evan) Chairmonte, Jodie (Aaron) Velez, Alexia Rodriguez, Melissa Enge, Sheila Cooper, Hospice and Yenissa Perez for the wonderful care that she was given in the last couple years and months. We cannot say enough how much you have done for us. Funeral services will be held 8:15 am Saturday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 9 am at Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland.
